The children of Israel had to engage the enemy to take their inheritance. We do too! Our inheritance (or promised land) is the fulfillment of the promises that we have in the New Covenant. It was in the battles that ensued to possess their inheritance that they REALLY discovered Who God was and who they were in Him.
